As a writer, I love words but I’ve found that simple words convey the most powerful meanings. ‘I love you’, ‘I hate you’, ‘you’re wonderful’ ‘you’re stupid’, ‘pretty’, ‘ugly’ etc. Choose your words carefully. Say what you mean and mean what you say and don’t say it, if you didn’t mean it….keep it simple!
Hugs and love from me to you. Valarie
Never underestimated words! They have the power to take a life or save a life.
Never underestimated the power of imagination, it’s what gives hope to dreams! It’s the basis for a foundation to be built. Our imagination encourages us to go further and reach higher. A word written or spoken makes it all tangible and achievable.
Hugs and love from me to you. Valarie
Loneliness is a state of mind and it can inhabit every fiber of a person’s being. It’s a heart condition of a void or black hole that seems to never fill. Whether in a crowded room or a darkened corner loneliness can overshadow joy, peace, love and even people who try to reach out.
The hold that loneliness can have is tormenting, suffocating and can devour a person from the inside out.
Never take for granted the loneliness a person feels. Don’t brush aside the sadness in their eyes or the crack in their voice. Listen with your heart instead of analyzing with your intellect. What may seem like no big deal to you might be the Grand Canyon to someone else.
Don’t see people through your eyes. Your vision is based on your reality and experience. Unless you can learn to see people where they are, you’ll only frustrate, alienate and shut them down.
Remember: The right words can bring hope and a touch joy to someone who is drowning in despair.
Every morning I wake up, a melody of joy greetings me. By choice of course!!!
How do you choose to wake up despite the obstacles and challenges that await you?
Remember you have control over how you let things affect you.
Hugs and love from me to you! Valarie
It’s said that some of the loneliest people are in a room full of people but no-one can see their emptiness inside. They feel like they are on a road with no-one and no help in sight.
They smile and laugh but inside they’re crying out for help. Maybe the obstacles they are facing require more strength then they have or, the burden is too heavy for them to bear.
When discouragement and depression comes they can become vulnerable to suicide. Not because they want to die but because they can’t see any other options.
The tunnel becomes real as it offers a light of hope that they can escape the pain and torment. The light promises a new beginning someplace else or at least the end of suffering.
Lonely people can be anyone at any time in any stage of life. Reach out to those you see in need. Take the time to listen to their heart because you may not ever get another chance. Don’t brush aside their concerns because it seems insignificant to you.
Remember, we are all unique. What you can handle, I may not be able to. What you easily brush off may feel like a heavy weight to me. What may seem like no big deal to you is everything to me!
Love is real and powerful. Show more love in your words and actions to those around you starting today. Listen to someone ramblings; you just might help to save their life.
Hugs and Love from me to you! Valarie
This poem was written the night after the moon was the closet to the earth and could be seen beautifully on June 23. These words echoed in my heart. Thought I’d share a small part of my writing life. I hope you don’t mind.
Silver lining shines bright
A second light in the middle of the night.
As loneliness creeps into my silent room
Overshadowing me trying to fill me with gloom.
Another lonely day waiting by the door
Hoping to see your face once more.
To no avail do you come
Still your voice whispers and my heartstrings are strum.
As the moon’s, light touches my face
A memory of you makes my heart race.
Darkness cannot fill the void
Remnants of your love leaves me overjoyed
Until the day we come together, you and I
On wings of light, I’ll fly, into the moon lit sky.
